A rare species which escaped(!) from a Chinese botanic garden a few years ago. Totally hardy this decideous climber has good vigour and can grow to 25-20ft in 5 years. Large light green vine shaped leaves are very hairy and are felty to the touch. The flowers are insignificant green clusters but give way to large heads of round berries that are bright electric blue and are very striking and produced in large quantities on this robust species from late summer onwards. Best in a warm bright sunny spot.
