Musella lasiocarpa, also known as Chinese dwarf banana or golden lotus banana, is a close relative of banana trees, (Musa sp.) and also belongs to the Musaceae familly. It is native to the Yunnan province in China. Musella lasiocarpa is known for its showy golden yellow erect inflorescences, that generally appear during the second year of cultivation, and that can last a few months. Leaves - Leaves of the Chinese dwarf banana are slightly glaucous, lanceolate and oblong, looking like banana leaves. Flowers - The Chinese dwarf banana has showy golden yellow flowers that can last up to several months.
